Am I eligible?
You must be 19 years of age AND a resident of Minnesota before you can take a GED test at Faribault Education Center. If you are under 19 you must obtain a waiver from the State of Minnesota.
Test takers must have a valid, current Government Issued picture ID to verify identity and eligibility for testing. This can be a passport, driver's licence or permit, ID card, or green card.
How do I sign up?
Students must register and schedule their test times on the GED website. Walk-Ins are not allowed as students must be registered on the GED website.
Students must pay for their test(s) at the time of scheduling, using a debit or credit card. Test(s) must be canceled 24 hours in advance to avoid losing funds.
What is the cost?
There are four individual subject area tests and the fee is $30.00 per test. Retests are also $30.00. Faribault Education Center provides free GED Practice Tests to our testers. There may be discounts and scholarships available to qualifying candidates. Please contact us at (507) 333-6472 for updated information on any promotions.
How can I prepare for the test?
Faribault Education Center provides free classes in Adult Basic Education to assist students with math, reading and English skills. GED preparation classes and online study is available through the Adult Literacy program.
